Genevieve is a New Jersey native from Moorestown, New Jersey; however, she more strongly identifies with her birth city of Philadelphia (Philly baby!!!). She grew up playing a lot of sports and originally started running to keep in shape for soccer and lacrosse. After winning a bet with her mom in eighth grade, she gave up lacrosse in favor of track and then began running cross country as a junior in high school while pursuing opportunities to play soccer and run collegiately. Ultimately, she chose to attend Rutgers to continue her academic and running careers. When asked why she runs, she often answers with a smirk and a shrug, saying that at this point, she loves the endorphin rush from races, hard workouts, and easy runs alike (so it’s a minor physical addiction), and that she doesn’t know what she would do without it. In her spare time, she likes reading, skiing, surfing, making banana bread, and playing with her puppy, Lucky.
